Giwa Gardens Water Park, one of West Africa’s leading leisure destinations, has entered into a major partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and key private-sector sponsors including Access Bank to drive a festive-season tourism initiative aimed at enhancing recreation and family experiences in Lagos.
100,000 Free Tickets for December Festivities
As part of the “Detty December” campaign, Giwa Gardens will offer 100,000 free entry tickets between December 13, 2025 and January 4, 2026.
The initiative also includes sponsoring 1,000 less-privileged children on opening day, providing free access, food, drinks, safety gear, and supervised fun — a move applauded as a milestone for inclusive holiday recreation.
Public-Private Collaboration for Tourism Growth
The partnership aligns government and private sector interests in expanding Lagos’ tourism economy and improving festive experiences for residents and visitors.
Giwa Gardens’ founder and CEO, Keji Giwa, described it as “a gift to Nigerian families,” noting that the collaboration reflects a commitment to accessibility and tourism development.

Representing the state government, the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, hailed the project as a model of effective partnership that will allow more families to enjoy the season while advancing Lagos’ tourism vision.
