The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has signed a landmark agreement with BLIP Limited to develop, deploy and manage the agency’s proprietary National Registration Portal (NRP), marking a major leap in the digital regulation of Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism sector.
NIHOTOUR Director General/CEO Aare (Dr.) Abisoye Fagade, together with senior management, received BLIP Limited CEO Mr. Freeman Musa at the institute’s headquarters for the formal signing ceremony.
The NRP is a comprehensive digital ecosystem engineered to strengthen NIHOTOUR’s statutory mandate under the NIHOTOUR Act 2022. It will deliver seamless identification, registration, training, verification and certification for personnel, professionals, operators, training centres and all industry stakeholders nationwide.

Key features include a unified national personnel registry, secure digital certification, integrated financial reporting and advanced analytics dashboards for real-time, data-driven decision-making. The platform will interface with core national databases and combine cloud and physical infrastructure for maximum security and performance. A dedicated mobile application will ensure easy access for the sector’s large informal workforce.
By consolidating identification, registration, training, certification and accreditation into a single transparent system, the NRP will guarantee accurate data capture, continuous professional development, full regulatory compliance and credible, globally recognised certification.
The partnership positions NIHOTOUR as a leader in digital governance for tourism across Africa. The platform is expected to launch publicly in the coming weeks, delivering a scalable, secure and efficient framework that will modernise workforce management and elevate Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global hospitality and tourism industry.
