Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort Revitalised Under Public-Private Partnership

The iconic Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort in Ekiti State has undergone significant transformation through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, positioning it as a premier ecotourism and hospitality destination in Nigeria.

Managed by Glocient Hospitality Limited, a subsidiary of Cavista Holdings, the resort — renowned as the world’s only confluence of warm and cold springs flowing side by side — was concessioned to the private operator to reverse years of decline and underutilisation.

Under the arrangement with the Ekiti State Government through its investment arm, Glocient has invested substantially in infrastructure upgrades, including internal roads, renovated structures, a new Presidential Villa (commissioned by the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy), expanded accommodations, refreshed branding, and elevated service standards. The resort now features modern conference facilities, enhanced guest experiences, and a stronger focus on sustainability while preserving its natural and cultural heritage.

Sharafa Balogun and other Glocient executives have highlighted the revival during recent forums, including the Distinguished Guest Lecture 2026 held in Ado-Ekiti on April 15. They emphasised how the PPP has delivered measurable improvements in hospitality, workforce development, community engagement, and local economic impact — creating jobs for youths as guides, artisans, and service providers while boosting nearby real estate and small businesses.

The resort has earned recognition as Nigeria’s Best Holiday Resort in 2023 and 2024, and continues to attract domestic and international visitors seeking its unique natural wonder, serene environment, and recreational offerings such as sightseeing, cycling, and wellness experiences.

Stakeholders view the Ikogosi project as a successful case study in using PPPs to unlock the economic potential of Nigeria’s tourism assets, contributing to Ekiti State’s broader tourism drive and sustainable development goals. The transformation is ongoing, with further investments aimed at making Ikogosi a benchmark for heritage-based hospitality in Africa.
