Ojo Oja Ignites Abuja’s Tourism Scene with Unforgettable Culture-Driven Experience

In a powerful boost to Nigeria’s culture-driven tourism agenda, Abuja is currently hosting the vibrant three-day Ojo Oja by Adunni Clothing, a dynamic cultural marketplace fusing fashion, authentic cuisine, and shopping at the FCT Exhibition Pavilion.

This innovative event redefines the traditional market experience by blending rich Nigerian heritage with contemporary creativity in a lively, modern setting. From May 1 to 3, visitors are immersed in stylish fashion showcases featuring Adire and Aso-oke, mouth-watering local flavours, art, crafts, live entertainment, and family attractions — offering a complete sensory celebration of Nigerian identity.

The high-level attendance underscores its strategic importance to the tourism sector. Dr. Olayiwola Awakan, Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), graced the opening ceremony and Day One alongside Hon. Aisha Adamu Augie, Director General of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization. The Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, was duly represented, while Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa, Executive Director/CEO of the Katsina State History & Culture Bureau, was also present.

Dr. Awakan warmly commended the initiative, affirming that Ojo Oja aligns seamlessly with the NTDA’s vision of promoting immersive, culture-driven tourism experiences. He highlighted synergies with the Authority’s recently unveiled Naija Flavour Marketplace, positioning such platforms as vital tools for elevating Nigeria’s appeal as a world-class tourism destination.

As stylish displays meet irresistible local tastes, Ojo Oja exemplifies the rising power of authentic cultural experiences in drawing both domestic and international visitors to Nigeria’s vibrant capital.
