The Director-General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Mr. Ola Awakan, joined prominent industry leaders, chefs, tourism stakeholders, and development partners at the Award Night and Closing Ceremony of the 11th International Culinary Summit Abuja 2026, organized by the Association of Professional Chefs Nigeria (APCN).

The event served as a platform to celebrate excellence and recognize individuals and organizations whose contributions have significantly advanced Nigeria’s culinary, hospitality, and tourism sectors. It also underscored the growing importance of food as a cultural asset and a key driver of tourism, showcasing Nigeria’s rich and diverse heritage to both local and international audiences.

Speaking on the significance of culinary tourism, Mr. Awakan reaffirmed NTDA’s commitment to promoting Nigeria’s cultural identity through its cuisine.
