In a landmark move to reposition Nigeria as a premier tourism destination, the Federal Government today officially unveiled NITOUREY, Africa’s first dedicated tourism streaming hub.
The innovative platform, developed through a strategic public-private partnership, is designed to dramatically boost Nigeria’s visibility on the global stage by streaming high-quality content that showcases the country’s rich cultural heritage, iconic destinations, and creative experiences to international audiences.
NITOUREY will serve as Nigeria’s premier digital gateway for tourism, featuring compelling stories, virtual tours, and immersive content that highlight attractions across the six geopolitical zones. Key destinations expected to take centre stage include Zuma Rock, Yankari Game Reserve and Safari, the historic Argungu Fishing Festival, Ngwo Pine Forest and Cave, Obudu Mountain Resort, Olumo Rock, and many more.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Dr. Ola Awakan, described NITOUREY as a transformative tool that will redefine how Nigeria presents itself to the world. He emphasised that the platform goes beyond promotion, creating new economic opportunities for local filmmakers, content creators, tourism operators, and hospitality businesses.
The Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy also endorsed the initiative, noting that NITOUREY aligns with broader efforts to unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s tourism economy while amplifying authentic Nigerian narratives.
For Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality stakeholders, NITOUREY represents a powerful new channel to attract international visitors, investors, and cultural enthusiasts. By leveraging modern streaming technology, the platform is set to drive sustainable growth in the sector, enhance destination marketing, and foster greater collaboration between government and private enterprise.
As Africa’s pioneering tourism streaming hub, NITOUREY positions Nigeria at the forefront of digital innovation in the continent’s tourism landscape.
